Starting in August 2026, Microsoft Edge will ship major updates every two weeks instead of every four weeks. Google Chrome will adopt the same schedule in September 2026. This accelerated cadence affects the Stable channel that most organizations use by default. If you want to avoid the increased update frequency, you can move your browsers to the Extended Stable channel, which retains an eight-week release cycle.
